General Information

Dates: Leave Friday afternoon and return Sunday evening

Where: Bird Island Basin, at Padre Island National Seashore, on North Padre Island, near Corpus Christi, Texas

What: We will sail sunfish and catamarans, windsurf, and enjoy the beach. We camp right at the water's edge.

Cost

$30 per person. This is to help defray the costs associated with towing the boats. You may bring friends who are not members of the club. However, members have priority use of the boats.

Refunds for membership dues, coast trip fees or any other UT Sailing Club transactions are UNAVAILABLE except in extenuating circumstances ( medical, force majore, etc ). Under such extenuating circumstances, the claimant must present his/her case for consideration to the executive board at one of the regular board meetings. After the presentation, the claimant will provide contact information and then depart, at which point the officers will debate the case and vote. The decision is final, and will be delivered to the claimant by the commodore within one week.

• Money (vehicle entry fee, dinner Saturday night)
• Plenty of water

If you do not have any camping gear, rent it from the UT RecSports Outdoor Center.

How to Sign Up

Come to a Coast Trip information session and tell the Social Officer:

• You want to come
• If you need a ride or if you have extra room in your car
• The departure time of which you want to be a part
• If you can tow a boat
• Make sure you complete the rec sports membership form and give the rec sports office a copy of your medical insurance card.
• Drivers need to become registered with RecSports. Check out the paperwok here.

Make sure the Secretary has all your paperwork.
