The carpool meets at 10:00 AM at the surface parking lot at 27th and Wichita. If you are driving and have room for more people, please go to the carpool spot. Park near the entrance to the marina, not near the boats.
Saturday Sails end at 5:00 PM, so all boats must be back and put away by then. You may stay and continue to sail a boat if you are checked out on that boat and can provide your own ride back to Austin.
The O.D. (Officer of the Day) is there to protect your safety and UTSC property. The O.D.'s word is the law. When in doubt, ask the O.D.
On official Saturday Sails you may sail up to one level above your rank. Unranked members (those that have passed the written test and swim test) may sail Sunfish only.
You must bring the boat back to the ramp within 45 minutes. This is to check to see if anyone is waiting for the boat and so the O.D. knows that you are fine.
If you damage any equipment, tell the O.D. You will not be charged for parts that break due to normal wear, as often happens, but we need to know about it so we can fix it, and so that someone else does not use the boat and get hurt. Mark the broken part with a maintenance tag and add it to the maintenance list in the sailhouse.
You will get wet; dress appropriately. Try not to wear denim or other types of cotton because they absorb water greatly. Changing rooms and rest rooms are available.
Don't forget sunblock. The marina can be rocky, so wear shoes or sandals that can be worn into the water. Bring lunch and water to drink.
Please don't bring pets, alcohol, or glass to the marina.
If you swim, please keep the ramp clear and make sure boats coming in can easily avoid you.
